Farmers market Treasurer Andre Kempton and Business Manager Jennifer Helsel joined Bergner to pitch the commission on the idea of holding the Saturday morning market in the county's parking lot from May 13 through Nov. 18 this year.
"We had a meeting with the mayor and the town in November of last year and we came to the conclusion that we would not be able to hold the Taos Farmers Market any longer on the plaza because of a few different issues — road construction on the main drag, and also because of some safety issues with access, fire trucks, etc.," said Kempton, who with his wife owns Wild Leaven Bakery. "We're looking to move to another easily accessible and public location to hold this important community service."
